KWCM internship programme in partnership with Fung Kai No. 1 Secondary School

KWCM organised a two-week internship programme during July in partnership with Fung Kai No. 1 Secondary School. Five Form-four students were assigned to different departments and plants and received individual on-job training by KWCM staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in the profession. The student interns also visited several KWCM production plants and spoke with Joseph Chee Ying Keung, Managing Director, to gain further insights on the industry.

KWIH supports the Inaugural Cornell CUHK Regional Real Estate Competition, Asia

To celebrate the 10th Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition (CIRECC), Cornell University co-hosted the first Annual Cornell CUHK Regional Real Estate Competition, Asia with the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The contest was sponsored exclusively by K. Wah International Holdings. Eight undergraduate teams from schools in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia had four days to analyse an actual transaction and present their analysis and recommendations to a panel of international real estate executives. The winners are CUHK team (Champion), HKU team (1st runner-up), and PolyU team (2nd runner-up), who had participated in the finals in New York in November. The CIRECC provides students an opportunity to put their knowledge into first-hand practice through the real-world challenging real estate cases, which facilitate them having competitive edge when joining the workplace after graduation.

Dr Lui Che-woo makes RMB200 million donation to Tsinghua University for the construction of “Lui Che Woo Pharmaceutical Sciences Building” and “Lui Che Woo Medical Sciences Building”

Dr Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group, has announced a donation amounting RMB200 million to Tsinghua University for constructing two blocks of the new biomedical sciences building, named as “Lui Che Woo Pharmaceutical Sciences Building” and “Lui Che Woo Medical Sciences Building”. which further support the advancement of Tsinghua University’s School of Life Sciences, School of Medicine, and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The donation signing ceremony was held at Tsinghua University. Following the ceremony, Dr Lui has shared his business philosophies, his work for philanthropy and the vision behind "LUI Che Woo Prize – Prize for World Civilisation" with 150 teachers and students of Tsinghua University in the symposium.

GEG Youth Achievement Program participants travel to Thailand

GEG co-organised the Youth Achievement Program (“YAP”) with the Macau Management Association for the seventh year and sponsored winners of the YAP Final Competition for a study tour. This year, the winning students had the chance to visit Thailand, a Belt and Road country. By arranging visits to both traditional and innovative enterprises, GEG aimed to provide students with career planning and development insights. It is also hoped that the participants would become familiarised with the outlook of Sino-Thai business cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the operation and development of retail chains, the latest trends in business development and the incubation of entrepreneurial ideas.

Unveiling Ceremony of LUI Che Woo Building of the School of Life Sciences, Peking University cum LUI Che Woo Prize Symposium

The Peking University Honorary Trustee Appointment Ceremony for Dr Lui Che-woo and the "LUI Che Woo Prize" Symposium were held today at Yingjie Exchange Centre, Peking University. Dr Lui Che-woo, founder of the "LUI Che Woo Prize – Prize for World Civilisation", Prof. Lin Jianhua, President of Peking University, Mr Xie Zhenhua, laureate of the LUI Che Woo Prize 2017 for Sustainability, Dr Mo Yan, member of the Prize Recommendation Committee, Prof. Xu Zhihong, Former President of Peking University and scholars from academic circles, shared their viewpoints on the significance of sustainable development with over 200 teachers and students. Dr and Mrs Lui Che Woo and Prof. Lin Jianhua also officiated at the unveiling ceremony of LUI Che Woo Building of the School of Life Sciences, Peking University, celebrating its completion and putting into use.

Wuyi University Student Integrated Services Centre Opening Ceremony

The Wuyi University School Integrated Service Centre is officially opened and put into service. As a one-stop integrated service building, the centre provides alumnus and students with academic and employment guidance, psycho-education and student enrolment services. Life Honorary Chairman of Wuyi University Board of Trustees and Chairman of K. Wah Group, Dr Lui officiated at the ceremony and hopes to provide a better education environment and support for Wuyi students and help nurture more talents for the community.
