GEG introduces Olympic Gold Medalists to LCWC students and invites students to HKZM Bridge documentary screening

As part of the “Olympic Gold Medalists Visit Macau Series Activities – Energetic Visit”, Galaxy Entertainment Group invited three renowned Olympic athletes – gymnast Li Shanshan, table tennis player Xu Xin and badminton player Wang Xin – to share their experience of the Olympic Games with students of the University of Macau’s Lui Che Woo College. GEG once again sponsored the gold medalists’ accommodation at Galaxy Macau™. GEG also invited the students to watch the documentary “The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge” at the UA Galaxy Cinema, to expand their horizons.

The 2018 Macau Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon kicks-off

Title-sponsored by GEG for the 15th consecutive year, the 2018 Macau Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon was successfully held. Mr Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG, officiated at the gun-firing ceremony. GEG staff demonstrated strong team spirit at the race and captured the Group Trophy for 14th year in a row. The marathon route traversed Macau’s landmarks including Galaxy Macau™. GEG sponsored again the Most Creative Costume Award and cheer performance to further enhance the joyful atmosphere.

KWIH brings out glamorous “Turandot” premiere

K. Wah International, the Honorary Patron of Opera Hong Kong ("OHK"), devotedly supported OHK as the title sponsor of the premiere of the last masterpiece of Giacomo Puccini, Turandot, at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The sponsorship of Turandot demonstrated the Group's steadfast commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, focusing on the development of arts and culture in Hong Kong.

The classics attracted Dr and Mrs Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group, Ms Paddy Lui, Executive Director, and Mr Oliver Lam, Chief Financial Officer of KWIH, Mr Wong Kwai-lam, Chairman of OHK and Independent Non-executive Director of KWIH, Mr Warren Mok, Artistic Director of OHK; as well as friends from the political, business, education and media sectors, including Sir David Akers-Jones, former Chief Secretary, Dr Charles Cheung Wai-bun, Non-executive Director of Galaxy Entertainment Group, Dr and Mrs Moses Cheng, Non-executive Director of KWIH, and Dr and Mrs William Yip, Independent Non-executive Director of KWIH and Galaxy Entertainment Group to join and enjoy the show with us.

K. Wah Group demonstrates strong team spirit at International Dragon Boat Championships

K. Wah Group encouraged staff to participate in the Dragon Boat Competition, demonstrating great teamwork while celebrating Tuen Ng Festival together. KWIH and Stanford Hotels International formed a “mixed-gender team” to compete against other local and overseas players in the “Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2018”. They were energised by the support from the management, colleagues from different departments and their associates. Consequently, the team completed the race in a highly respectable result.

The dragon boat teams of GEG took home a first runner-up title and a third runner-up title on the first day of the Macau International Dragon Boat Races. “Galaxy Elegance” romped home with the first runner-up title in the Grand Final of the Macau Small Dragon Boat Race (200m) – Women’s Category, after beating other competitors. “Galaxy Universe” finished fourth in the Macau International Small Dragon Boat Race – Men’s Category (200m).

GEG holds blessing ceremony for 2018 Macau International Dragon Boat Races

GEG Dragon Boat Team is competing for the 13th consecutive year in the Macau International Dragon Boat Races to encourage its team members to improve their physical and emotional well-being through sports. Over 100 GEG team members attended the blessing ceremony to bestow good luck upon the dragon boat team members and the six GEG dragon boats.

KWIH title sponsored French Classics Opera《Carmen》

The masterpiece of the renowned French composer Georges Bizet’s Carmen, an opera in four acts titled sponsored by K. Wah International Holdings Limited (“KWIH”) and presented by Opera Hong Kong(“OHK”) and Le French May, is now staging at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre! The classics about love, jealousy and liberty had attracted Mr and Mrs Francis Lui Yiu-tung, Deputy Chairman of K. Wah Group, Ms Paddy Lui, Executive Director, and Mr Oliver Lam, Chief Financial Officer of KWIH, Dr Wong Kwai-lam, Chairman of OHK and Independent Non-executive Director of KWIH, Mr Warren Mok, Artistic Director of OHK; as well as friends from the political, business, education and media sectors, including Professor and Mrs Lawrence Lau Juen-yee, Professor and Mrs Tsui Lap-chee, Mr and Mrs Milton Au Man-chu, Independent Non-executive Director of KWIH to enjoy the show at the theatre tonight.

Carmen, one of the most performed operas in the world, left the audience with Spanish passion, French lyricism and Bizet’s melodies lingering in ears and heart long after the show, bringing them to its feet at the curtain.
