Puccini’s final opera “Turandot” is the tale of how Calàf, an exiled Tartar Prince in China, melts the cold heart of the unfeeling Princess Turandot whom he loves at first sight with unwavering affection even to the extent of giving up his life. “Turandot” reflects the beauty of Chinese traditional culture by incorporating many Chinese melodic movements and adapting magnificent settings and costumes with Chinese elements. Coupled with a star-studded international cast of singers highlighted by Oksana Dyka, Mlada Khudoley, Alfred Kim, Gustavo Porta, Valeria Sepe and George Andguladze, “Turandot” is expected to thrill the audiences, complementing the spectacular pageantry as it brings the opera to its dramatic climax.

KWIH has been dedicated to advancing development of the arts in Hong Kong for many years. Its latest efforts to promote operatic arts and enhance a greater public appreciation of opera are the sponsorship of the premiere of Giacomo Puccini’s world-famous opera “Turandot” in Hong Kong (Source of photos: Opera Hong Kong)
